Show Your Business Meets
A Structured Standard
NAS is an independent, evidence-based business certification scheme built for UK contractors and SMEs. Get certified, join the public register, and demonstrate that your business operates to a recognised standard.
Available at Basic, Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers — starting from £349 per year.
What NAS Is
NAS — the National Assurance Standard — is NAS's business certification scheme for UK organisations. It is an independent framework through which businesses are assessed against structured criteria and, if successful, awarded a certificate and listed on the NAS public register.
Unlike self-declaration schemes or simple database listings, NAS requires businesses to submit evidence that is reviewed by independent assessors. Certification decisions are made separately from commercial interests, in line with the principles of ISO/IEC 17021.
NAS is structured across four tiers — Basic, Bronze, Silver, and Gold — each requiring progressively broader evidence across governance, compliance, ethics, and operational management. NAS is a certification scheme, not an accreditation body.
Health and safety policy and arrangements, risk assessments and method statements, COSHH, CDM duties, training, insurance and subcontractor checks — the SSIP core criteria.
Everything in Basic plus legal identity and licences, employers’ liability insurance, data protection, equality, complaints handling, employment terms and right-to-work checks.
Everything in Bronze plus environmental and waste management, quality and corrective action, governance and conflicts of interest, competition law, pensions, working time and subcontractor approval.
Everything in Silver plus 13 procurement modules: financial standing, anti-bribery and integrity disclosures, tax status, cyber security, ethical supply chain, sustainability and Building Safety Act readiness.

Annual Renewal

We Reward Loyalty — Not Penalise It
Unlike many certification schemes, we never raise your price based on staff numbers or turnover. Our pricing is flat and transparent — and we reward you for staying with us year after year.
Flat pricing, always. We never increase your renewal fee based on how many staff you have, your turnover, or any other business metric. Your loyalty is rewarded with a growing discount — capped at 20% from year 5 onwards.
Loyalty discounts apply to your original certification tier only. If you upgrade to a higher tier, the discount resets and accrues from Year 1 of the new tier.
Optional Member Benefits
NAS may make optional business tools, training resources, and supplier benefits available to registered and certified members. These are entirely separate from the certification process.
Use of any optional benefit, tool, or supplier offer has no bearing on certification decisions, assessment outcomes, or certificate status. Participation is always at the member's discretion.
What You Get Once You're Certified
Certification is the product. Here is what comes with it, and what keeps it current.
Your NAS certificate
A certificate with a unique number, your tier and its expiry date, issued only after an assessor has reviewed your evidence and a separate decision has been made.
A public register listing
Buyers can find your business on the free NAS Certified Business Register and check your tier and status without contacting you.
Certificate checks
Anyone can confirm your certificate is genuine and current by entering its number on the Verify a Certificate page.
Renewal reminders
We remind you before your certificate and key documents expire, so you can renew with a fresh evidence review before anything lapses.
