ISO/IEC 17065:2012 Overview ISO/IEC 17065 specifies the requirements for bodies certifying products, processes, and services. Its purpose is to ensure that certification decisions are impartial, consistent, evidence-based, and technically competent. For NRTAUK, this standard underpins the NAS Accreditation Scheme and defines how certification activities must be governed and implemented. 17065 is built on the principles of impartiality, competence, confidentiality, transparency, consistency, and evidence-based decision making. UKAS uses this standard to assess whether NRTAUK meets legal and contractual responsibilities, protects impartiality, ensures competence, applies consistent processes, and maintains an effective management system. NRTAUK applies ISO/IEC 17065 in the NAS scheme through defined certification processes, assessor competence, decision maker independence, impartiality safeguards, and continual improvement.
